Dar Salwa Palace in Kuwait is the official royal residence of the late Emir of Kuwait, HH Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who ruled from 2006 until his passing in 2020. It remains one of the country's most famous and historically significant royal residences, symbolizing Kuwait’s modern monarchy and national identity. 

Named after his late daughter:

HH Sheikha Salwa Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

Architecture

The palace combines a blend of traditional Kuwaiti and modern Gulf architecture, focusing on elegance rather than ostentation. It features white stone façades, traditional arches, landscaped gardens, and grand reception halls suitable for hosting world leaders. 

Accessibility

After Sheikh Sabah’s passing in 2020, the palace became associated with his legacy of diplomacy, modernization, and humanitarian leadership through the deliverance of his grandchildren and lineage. It is recognized throughout Kuwait as a symbol of national pride and of the Al-Sabah dynasty.
